Psychology Consulting for Optimal Performance and Flow
The focus of BodyandMindFlow Consulting is to assist individuals and teams in working towards their goals. This is done through a careful assessment of present status in relation to desired goals, and working collaboratively on an action plan to help progress towards those goals.
The approach taken by Sue is skills-focused. Once goals have been identified, relevant psychological skills and practices to help achieve goals are discussed. Psychological, or mind skills, are just that – skills. Thus, they require regular, quality practice to improve – just like physical or technical skills.
Sue has experience teaching psychological skills to athletes and coaches across a number of sports, including gymnastics, track and field, distance running, soccer, tennis, squash, and triathlon. In her research, Sue has interviewed elite athletes from these sports as well as sports such as rugby, rowing, cycling, swimming, hockey, and figure skating.
Sue's work has covered all ends of the athlete spectrum, from recreational enthusiasts to elite performers. Sue, a registered psychologist, is a member of the College of Sport Psychologists in the Australian Psychological Society. Sue is an approved psychology provider for the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) and a member of the QAS Sport Psychology Network.
Sue's expert knowledge of the optimal psychological state of flow means she can bring to her work skill in assessing flow, and in facilitating this experience. Sue draws on the knowledge bases and practices of sport psychology and mindfulness in her approach. Her goal is to help individuals develop awareness, clarity of focus, and movement towards values and goals.
Consultations can be arranged for individuals or teams. Email Sue for more details or to make a booking.
